Adoption Application

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Dirty Paws Rescue has had an issue come up with our e-mail.
Someone hacked into our rescue's yahoo e-mail account and
deleted everything including: All contacts, messages and
applications. If you have submmitted and application in the past
week but haven't heard back from us this is the reason. Please
contact me at dirtypawsrescue@yahoo.com
if you have adopted
from us or if you have questions about an application you submitted.

Thank you,
Tiffany

Who We Are ...

Guestbook

Welcome to Dirty Paws Rescue Inc.!!

We are a small rescue dedicated to helping in the fight to save the
lives of our 4 legged friends sentenced to death simply for
being born. We concentrate on mainly Bulldogs, other Bully Breeds
and Small Breeds but it's not uncommon to see other breeds in our
rescue.

All dogs are evaluated by experienced members of our rescue
before being placed up for adoption to ensure that each pet is
matched with the family that is right for him/her.

Adoption Fees
Our Adoption Fees range between $150.00 and $350.00. Below is
what is included in the adoption fee ....

  • Health Check
  • Spay/Neuter
  • Rabies Vaccination (for dogs over 16 weeks old)
  • Heartworm Test (over 1 year old)
  • Flea and Tick Preventative (Frontline Plus or Advantix)
  • Heartworm Preventative (Tri-Heart or Heartgard)
  • D.H.P.P.C. Vaccination (Dogs up to 3 years old)
  • Professional Grooming
  • Microchip
  • Dental (if needed)
  • Heartworm Treatment (if needed)
  • Any other personal vetting that is brought to our
    attention BEFORE adoption

When determining the adoption fee for a specific pet, we also
take into consideration the breed/mix of the dog, size, age, sex and
    amount of vetting done.

  • We also provide a senior citizen discount for seniors (55+)
interested in adopting a senior dog (10+ for small breeds and 6+
    for large breeds).

We have a strict adoption process that every applicant will need
to go through to adopt. We start with a detailed application, once
that is turned in we will review the application, check vet reference,
personal references, one of our members call for a phone interview
(usually the foster parent) and set up a home visit. We do allow out
of state adoptions but we do not ship our dogs ... please do not
ask. Please keep in mind that if you are applying for one of our Bully
Breeds to check your city ordinances, landlord and/or your home
owners insurance to make sure you are allowed to own these
    breeds.

All of our dogs are in foster homes, most are located in Evansville,
IN but we do have foster homes in MO, KY & IL. We require an approved
application before allowing to meet our dogs. Please e-mail
    dirtypawsrescue@yahoo.com
    and request an application.

Please contact Danielle & Martha (ddesawal@indiana.edu)
    (812) 824-3169 for more information about this pet.

Please read the whole profile before e-mailing or calling!!

My name is Bernie and I was reliquished to the Bloomington
Animal Shelter. I was covered in fleas and my tail was so infected
that it needed to be amputated. I'm doing great now! I have a great
foster home, and they have given me lots of love to help me feel
better. I weigh about 7 1/2 lbs and am 4 1/2 years old. I need to
remain on my light diet in order to help me feel even better. I'm
looking for a home wher someone will love me. I am already
housebroken, and I even sing with my foster mom. I have a
wonderful personality and would love to be part of your family. I'm
good with other dogs my own size, I don't like larger dogs so much.
    I'm also fine with cats.

Posey County Animal Control Dogs ...

Dirty Paws Rescue Inc has been working closely with Posey County
Animals Control in Mt Vernon, IN to help their pets find new homes
and rescues to take them in. Posey County does not have a public
facility that allows people to come in and see what is up for
adoption so their lives depend on advertisement through the
newspaper, adoption events and the Dirty Paws website. Please
have a look at their website at PC Pound Puppies!!

Rescues are very welcome to contact Brenda from PC Pound Puppies
~ PC Pound Puppies ~ or ~Dirty Paws Rescue ~ if they are
interested in taking a dog into their rescue.

    Adopting a New Family Member

Have a look at our adoptable pet list, if you see someone you are
interested in please contact us by phone or e-mail. From there you
will be directed to the foster parent to answer any questions you
may have and be asked to fill out an application. Once we have
received your application we will review it, call your vet and personal
references. *The vet reference is very important so please, if you
have current pets please also include the vet that last saw them if
different from the vet you intend to use now.* We will then set up a
phone interview, usually this is done by the foster parent so that any
questions you may have can be answered. We then set up a home
visit, home visits can be set up through out the US, location is not a
problem. At this point if everything has checked out and you are
approved to adopt we will set up an appointment for you to come
meet us and the pet you are interested in. We encourage people to
bring all family members involved (including family dog) to make
sure the everyone is in agreement and happy with the choice of the
new family member but this is not a requirement. We then have you
sign an adoption contract, you will receive a copy of the contract, all
vet records we have for the pet, microchip/registration information
and a puppy pack that includes samples and other goodies. We
check up on our rescues from time to time to make sure everything
is going well. We are always here to help with any problems you
may be having. If at anytime you are unable to keep the pet for any
reason he/she is to come back to our rescue to be rehomed.
